Think Beyond Managing Your Body and Stress
- Think Recovery.

A DIFFERENT WAY OF LOOKING AT SYMPTOMS

Most people are taught to think of symptoms as separate problems.

A sore shoulder.

Headaches.

Digestive issues.

Fatigue.

Pain.

Something to manage, suppress, or work around.

I take a different view.

Often, symptoms are not isolated events but part of a wider picture. When we begin to understand the patterns behind them, new possibilities can emerge.

Before symptoms in the body appear, or long after an injury should have healed, the body has often been adapting to the demands placed upon it. Those adaptations are designed to help us cope, but sometimes they continue long after they're needed.

Rather than seeing symptoms as something to fight, I see them as signs that the body may still be responding in ways that were once helpful but are no longer needed.

And when they begin to change, people often notice improvements they didn't expect. Because looking beyond the symptom often opens up possibilities that aren't obvious when we focus on the symptom alone.

The goal isn't to fight the body. It's to help it do less internally.

Because when the body no longer has to work so hard, life often begins to feel easier again.

Often, the body doesn't need more to do.

It needs the opportunity to undo.

Many people call it magic, because I help them recover from pain and other symptoms - seemingly by magic.

You might be thinking, “Magic? Yeah, sure,” and I wouldn’t blame you.

We’ve been conditioned to believe only certain healthcare providers have the best tools to help us recover from long-term pain and conditions - and when they can’t, well, no one can.

It’s time to stop believing this. Because, when we press the right buttons in the body, it can take-off faster than a witch’s broomstick at midnight!

Now, I’m no witch, and there’s no real magic - but do you know what really is powerful and almost magical?

Your body's ability to heal itself.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: "I have a list of things wrong with me that's as long as my arm! Can you help me?" A: Many of my clients' symptoms have improved - even those which they didn't believe could be. Rather than treat your diagnosis, I treat your body. This often means that your body restores balance and is more able to heal itself. Results may vary from a little improvement to complete eradication, depending on many factors. I recommend trying 5 sessions with me before deciding how well it's working for you, however, many people feel results within the first few sessions.

Q: "I've had my problem for years, can you still help me?" A: Our bodies are amazingly clever, and many long-term issues can be helped or resolved quickly. While some very long-term issues may take longer to resolve, it's not equal to the amount of time you have had them, because, once your body is 'reminded' of where it needs to focus its healing, it may take as little as a few weeks to feel the difference.

Q: "I have a new injury and have been told to avoid manipulation until the swelling has gone down. Is there anything you can do to help?" A: Most likely, yes. My method is extremely gentle and will not cause more damage. In fact, the sooner we get to a new injury, the better. Bowen seems to release the natural "grip" that the body places around an injured area and so it can produce a sometimes immediate healing effect - reducing muscle spasm, pain and stiffness, and speeding up recovery by an estimated 10-fold. I have immediately treated debilitating back muscle injuries, sprained ankles, cricked necks, locked sacrums, and bruises, which have resulted in improved movement and pain relief almost instantly. Not only that, but it often produces far less discomfort than otherwise expected over the following days, or, no sign of injury at all.

Q: "What happens during a treatment session?" A: After discussing how you've been feeling and taking down your medical/injury history, it's time for you to relax! The treatment can be done with you laying down or seated in a chair, when small and gentle 'moves' are done in specific places on your body - often depending on your issue - and through light clothing. A session usually lasts around an hour.

Q: "What kinds of aches and pains do you help with?" A: My clients have found relief from the following problems: Back, neck, shoulder, hip, knee, ankle, and foot pain. Frozen shoulder. Stiff or tight muscles. Posture issues. Irritable bowels, acid reflux, and other digestive issues. Widespread tenderness and pain. Sciatica and other nerve pain.

Q: "What can you do for stress?" A: Avoiding stress is not only difficult, it can be impossible. However, the way I work is to change the way we feel about the stress; about our situation; our life; and ourselves, so we can feel calm and confident, and dramatically reduce or eliminate the effects stress has on our health. My clients have found relief from the following problems: Pressure, anxiety, feeling stressed-out, overwhelm, fear, worry, negative feelings about a person, lack of self confidence. Results have also included relief from chronic illness, muscle tension, sleep problems, and digestive issues. The whole process usually takes around 20 minutes per problem, with long-lasting or permanent effects, and without having to talk in any detail about it. This works extremely well with the relaxing and healing effects of Bowen therapy for fast and lasting results.
