My Approach

I am passionate about helping people to live with greater freedom of movement and without the fear of pain, so they may enjoy their days, stop feeling old before their time, and sleep better at night.

When we get together, whether online or in person, you will not only receive the amazing Bowen Technique to help you relieve pain and heal your body. You will also gain access to many other tools I use to help you going forwards - from a truly 'wholistic' perspective.

These may include posture improvement, meditation, mindset, general health and wellbeing, and empowering exercises to give you strength and flexibility where you need it.

Your Pain

Do you know why you have pain?

​

  • Sometimes it may seem obvious what has caused our pain, such as an injury or a repetitive strain.

But other times, it seems as though your pain has come from out of nowhere.

​

  • 'Wear and tear' is a term that seems to float around, and is often not the full story.

And age does not correlate with pain, either.

 

  • Maybe you think your pain is due an old injury 'playing up', yet this injury should have healed. There's usually more to it than that.

​

The answer is often simply that something is holding your body back - either preventing your body from being calm and functioning well, putting strain on a part of your body, or, something is 'blocking' your full recovery from an old injury.

​

The biggest mistake many people make is concentrating on the area that hurts or is damaged.

This is the general approach used in modern medicine and sports therapy, so it is completely understandable why we are led to believe this is the best way.

 

However, in my 17 years experience of working on people, I have learned this is most definitely not the best way.

What do you do?
I use a range of techniques to assess and help you and your whole body.

I'll use extremely gentle rolling or pushing-type 'moves' in specific places on your muscles, tendons, ligaments, and even internal organs and nerves, which send a very subtle signal to your spinal cord and brain. This is usually done through light clothing (or through the power of the internet)


This way, your brain (which controls everything in your body) will be able to calm pain and inflammation, repair, and reset your body, and do whatever your body needs right now in order to heal.

People often say they feel pleasant 'things going on' and experience a deep relaxation.



How does it work?
Instead of trying to force your body to make a change, I believe that allowing your brain and central nervous system to make the right change is the fastest and longest-lasting route to tackling the cause of pain in your body.

So, by concentrating on areas of your body that constantly give feedback to your brain, a gentle response may be initiated to send help and heal.

This could be to release tight muscles or 'trapped' nerves, to awaken muscles that aren't firing fully, and to calm and 'reset' you.

It is your body that may then be able to re-align your spine and other joints, correct poor posture, and promote healing - often after very few sessions.
